Search Engine Submission

Comments Off on Search Engine Submission

Back in the 90s, most search engines had a submission form that allowed webmasters and owners of websites to manually submit and tag their website pages with relevant keyword information and submit them to be crawled. A spider (or bot) would then go through the website and include the pages in their index. It was that easy.

But due to it being THAT easy, it meant that people learned to spam and scheme to get their sites to the top of the search engines when they didn’t deserve it. This eventually paved the way for purely crawl based search engines. Since that happened, search engine submissions have become all but redundant. Most search engines don’t even have a ‘submit your site’ button.

A word of warning, if you EVER come across an ‘seo agency’ who claim they can do ‘search engine submission’ for you – take a deep breath and walk away. They clearly have no idea what they are doing – go to a real SEO agency who know what they are doing and how to get your some serious SEO.
